How Do I Recycle or Dispose of Plastics?
Most communities in Sacramento County have curbside recycling programs for residents that accept plastic containers.
Click here for information about curbside recycling in your community.
Sacramento County’s curbside recycling
program accepts plastic shopping bags, shrink wrap and clear
plastic windows such as those found in new toy packaging. Simply
place these materials in a clear or semi-clear plastic bag, tie
it closed at the top and place in your mixed recycling
container.
Many grocery stores have receptacles for plastic bag recycling. Some examples in the area are Albertsons/Savon, Ralph’s, Safeway, Raley’s, Bel Air, and Food Source. In addition, some stores provide between a 3 to 5 cent credit per bag to customers who bring their own bags (including plastic bags). Ask individual
store managers for details. To search for a California
