Neighborhood Cleanup

Residents of the unincorporated Sacramento County area are provided with Neighborhood Cleanup Service for pickup of bulky items. This service helps residents keep their property and neighborhoods free from trash, junk and rubbish accumulation.

You may also schedule a cleanup by appointment.

When

The Neighborhood Cleanup dates in your area may change from year to year depending upon program participation and volumes of material disposed. Residents will receive a Neighborhood Cleanup brochure in the mail about one week prior to when service will be provided. Approximate service dates can be obtained by contacting Customer Service by email or by calling 916-875-5555; TDD (hearing impaired) 916-875-7105; Toll free 1-800-932-8990.

Amount

Five (5) cubic yards of material, which is a pile about 8'x4'x4', is the maximum that will be accepted. This is also about the size of a pickup truck bed filled even to the top of the cab.

This limit is intended to discourage street side accumulation of large amounts of materials and to help in maintaining the cleanup schedule. Due to the popularity of the Neighborhood Cleanup program, many customers want to set out more than five cubic yards of material. For your convenience we will pick up the extra material, however, there is a modest fee of $25.00 per five cubic yards or fraction of five cubic yards for this service.

Where

Illustration of setout as described Materials must be placed out for collection as follows:

  • In front of your residence and on the same side of the street.
  • At the edge of the street without blocking vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
  • Do not place materials next to the garbage containers or parked vehicles, in open drainage ditches, or against fences.

NOTE: Please do not place reusable containers with rubbish unless you want to dispose of them.
