Garbage Collection
Sacramento County residents are provided with weekly
garbage service.

Containers
Residents have a choice of 38, 60 or 90-gallon garbage container.
In addition, residents are provided with mixed recycling and green waste collection
containers.

Collection Schedule
- Garbage service is provided on a weekly basis
- Containers must be at the curbside no later than 6:00 AM, on your scheduled
collection day, holidays included
- Call Customer Service between the hours of 7:00 AM to
9:00 PM

Container Setout
Please place containers on the street side as shown below so they do
not block pedestrian use of sidewalks. Keep containers a minimum of six (6) feet away
from cars, boats and other stationary objects to avoid risk of private property damage.

Placement & Storage
Please remove containers from the curbside after they are serviced on
collection day. The appearance of neighborhoods would be improved if residents stored
containers in side or backyards after servicing.

Container Replacement or Repair
To request any type of repair or replacement for garbage, green waste or
mixed recycling containers, residents should contact
Customer Service by email or by
calling 916-875-5555. There is no extra charge for repairing or replacing damaged containers.

Special Service
If your container is full before collection day, call the number below
for extra service at an added charge.

Other Information
- Materials must fall freely from container when dumped.
- Containers may not be serviced if they are overfilled, are not
accessible, or include inappropriate materials.

Acceptable & Unacceptable Materials
|
|
|
- Hot Ashes or Coals
- Dirt, Sod, Rocks or Concrete
- Toxic or Highly Flammable Materials Such As Oil, Gas or Paint
- Construction, Remodeling or Demolition Debris
- Heavy Metal Items Such As Auto Parts
- NO household batteries such as AA, AAA, C
cells, D cells and button batteries (found in
watches, hearing aids, etc.)
- NO fluorescent light tubes or bulbs
- NO mercury containing devices such as
thermostats, barometers, electrical switches &
relays, mercury gauges, pilot light sensors and
musical greeting cards
- NO electronics such as TV’s, computers,
printers, VCR’s, cell phones, telephones, radios and
microwave ovens.
